Rae Doerring in competition

Trainer Rae Doerring offers a lifetime of experience with horses. As the daughter of an equine businessman, Rae was practically “born in the saddle.” By the age of 7, she knew walk, trot and canter and was a veteran of the local show scene.  Rae’s first championship came just a few years later when she and her pony, A Little Macho, were named Large Pony Champion.

Rae spent her childhood and teenage years riding and showing “any horse she could.” In 1989, she was awarded second place in the Hunter/Jumper Zone 6 Medal Finals.  Rae has ridden and trained with a long list of familiar names, including: George Schneider, Audrey Holt, Melinda Antisdel, Shirley Beakler, Dee Slagle and Heidi Hildebrand. Still active in the competition world, Rae is well-known on the “A” circuit and has been awarded the D-Series Adult High Point Rider for four straight years running (2003-06).

Rae has extensive experience in raising, breaking and training horses. She specializes in helping riders work with their own horses and in finding the right horse for each rider. Although her trained eye is a superb asset in the disciplines of Hunter, Jumper and Equitation, Rae is also comfortable working with pleasure riders. She currently trains over 30 students in a variety of styles. Rae is a consummate professional - imparting her wisdom with kindness, clarity and accuracy.
